The Utah Jazz are taking a major step forward in their team development strategy with the announcement of a state-of-the-art practice facility at The Shops at South Town in Sandy. Smith Entertainment Group, which spearheaded the project, revealed that the 111-acre site will house two basketball courts, a full team locker room, advanced training and workout spaces, and a performance kitchen designed to support player nutrition and development.

The facility will be connected to the new Utah Mammoth practice and training center, creating a shared campus for both teams. Jazz coach Will Hardy emphasized the importance of this synergy, noting that having the two teams side by side fosters a competitive yet collaborative environment that will elevate performance across both organizations.

In addition to player-focused amenities, the building will serve as Smith Entertainment Group’s headquarters, consolidating staff and operations previously spread across multiple locations. Extra, undesignated space has been included to accommodate future growth, reflecting the organization’s long-term vision. Ryan Smith, chairman of SEG, described the project as more than a building—it’s a “campus” intended to mirror elite facilities like Real Madrid’s, offering players a professional, high-performance environment for training and team-building.

Construction has already begun, though the timeline is flexible since the Jazz already have the Zions Bank Basketball Campus nearby. This new facility underscores the franchise’s commitment to player development, community engagement, and positioning Sandy as a hub for professional sports innovation.
